Good Friday to YOU!

I have to share this comfy, cozy zip front sweater with you all that I purchased from Amazon. This may or may not be my third day wearing it. I just love the feel of it and keeps me warm while it's still super cold outside. Here is the link on Amazon. I know everyone is starting to think about spring and the upcoming spring colors. I chose this light pink because I feel like this is a good transition color to wear while it's still cold but starting to dream of spring. I'm not going to lie to you I'm fine with the cold right now. I like being bundled up and cozy. I love watching tv or movies with blankets and when anyone comes over don't worry I have one waiting for them as well! My best friend got a weighted blanket for Christmas and I may be adding that to my wish list soon. 

Are you loving this cooler weather or are you ready for spring? I did buy a pair of sandals yesterday, so I guess in Texas you never know when it will turn sandal season. Could be tomorrow- or in months. We will see, but it's good to be prepared. 

My next review will be with a new swimsuit I purchased.... so I guess we need to start thinking about summer suits too? It's always fun to see new suits and don't you worry- I am all for covering the cheeks! lol

Over Christmas break I found a fashion boutique that has quality apparel and great sales. I got this top for 23 bucks and have found more and more that I love from this shop. There's a lot of small boutique's out there and I love supporting them- but I also love a good deal!

Another part of this outfit I am loving right now are my comfy new Adidas shoes. I usually am a Nike girl, but tried out a new brand and am really enjoying them. They are called Cloudfoam Pure Running Shoes and are super light and comfy. I also love this color for spring. I know it's cold out, but we can start looking forward to running outside again. I hate running just so you know, but I know a lot of people love it. I am more of a cycler and I am getting ready to ride my bike outside once we spring forward.

Little Black Amazon Dress

 Little Black Lace Dress

Everyone needs a little black dress and recently I purchased this one and am loving it! It's hard to find the right one that you can wear to anything or any occasion. I love the lace on the sleeves and around the neckline of the dress. I am wearing a Medium and am always worried how dresses will fit me since my chest is so small and my waist is larger. I feel great in this one- not too tight, not too long (especially for this shorty). I feel beautiful but still conservative.

Here's my favorite part- the BACK!! I love how it has a nice dip in the back. Far enough down that gives it a sexy look, but still able to wear a strapless bra without seeing it. 

Everyone needs a little black dress to wear at any occasion and I am excited that I found this one.

TARGET Alert!!!

 

Hey there!

I had a bit of a shopping spree at Target this week and wanted to show you my finds. 

This purse is one of my favorite purchases of the year! I am the type of person who usually switches out a purse every 3 months or so. I can't seem to keep a purse for too long. It's just how I roll. So I have been searching for a good over the shoulder (crossbody) purse for the winter. Every time I'm at Target I scan the purse section and even though this purse is a bit over my budget $29.99 it was TOTALLY worth it! I am in love with this aqua green/mint color. Here's the sad part- I can't find it online so this means you may need to GET OUT for a minute and go to your local Target to find one. They had three different colors. 

Next everything in the store is 30% off right now including THIS Cotton/Wool sweater. So many different colors available. I'm wearing a small and got it for a whopping $15 bucks! Click HERE for the link. 

Lastly, I needed some new sunglasses and am loving these from Target. Click HERE to find the link to these. The sunglasses are the same price as the sweater.  For this outfit I spent $60 this week and I am happy with all my new winter wear. 

Now if only Texas would stay cold to wear these chunky sweaters for the whole day. Yesterday I picked up my kids and sat in the car in 80 degree heat with my winter coat in the passenger side seat. I really have no idea how many outfits I will need in a day- but I don't mind changing. 

One more thing before I go- 

Look how cute my kids are. We went to the park yesterday that has a small pond with ducks. Like I said earlier-it was so beautiful we had to take advantage of the winter day for a walk. So I tried to take some cute photos of them. Hope you enjoy.

Fall Fashion Kimono Style

 Hey all! 

It's me again and this time I am coming at you with all the fall colors. It's one of those things that when you put on the sweater you get the pumpkin spice latte because it feels right. I've lived in Texas for awhile now and trying my best to get used to this weather. Cold in the mornings and 80 in the afternoon. It's in your best interest to layer and be ready for anything. The greatest part is that here in the South we can buy cute sweaters and wear them for a good bit before having to put a coat over them. I am loving all these colors in this long kimono cardigan. I'm wearing it with leggings, but you could put it over a dress or jeans.

Also, my kids are wondering why I am trying to take photos of myself these days. So now my son, Micah (6) is getting in the habit of posing and he's actually really good at it. Enjoy!

FruGal Fashion

HELLO!!

It's been an entire YEAR since I've written in my blog. And I'm BACKKK. This time I want to do something totally different. Along with telling stories about my kiddos and my life. I want to share all my fashion finds. If there's one thing I love to do in my spare time it's shop.. if you know me, I'm always on to the next outfit. I wouldn't say I want to see all the trends as I have my own type of fashion, and take it or leave it- it's up to you.

There's been a lot of change in the world, at my job, and in my personal life in the last year. This blog is something I want to start doing for ME. I love my family and working at the best church in the world, but I also want to have something that's all mine. I love cute clothes, finding great deals, and feeling my best when I leave the house. 

Here's my first FruGal Fashion post.

This top is quickly becoming one of my faves. The color blocking is so fun with these great yellow/blue color combo. I'm wearing a small and it's pretty long in the torso and arm length. I am also only 5'2" and about 125 pounds. 

My boots are from Target and I am loving this style. Easy to slip on and wear with skinny jeans. They are Women's Nora Cut Out Ankle Bootie in Taupe. Right now Target is out of stock on them. But they still have some great choices that look similar like THIS ONE.

My favorite jeans come from American Eagle Outfitters. I know that sounds a like I'm still stuck in high school, but being short it's tough to find jeans that fit my length and my shapely bottom. The High Rise Skinny Jeans in Short or sometimes I got Extra Short are my absolute favorite. They have all different colors and sell them hole free too! I am wearing the High Waisted Jeggings in this photo and they are one of the most comfortable, classy looking jeans. Find them HERE

New ME

Oh my. I was updating some things on my google account and saw how long it had been since I posted on here. It has been a crazy time in my life. New job, new routine, new life. It all happened so fast that I didn't even have time to write it down. So here I am now updating you all 3 months later.

I am now working at the Chase Oaks Richardson Campus Admin. I love it so much. I have started to feel like I'm getting back to the world or people, building relationships, getting things accomplished and still being a mom. Part time has been everything I could have dreamed. I work from 8-2 p.m. M-Thurs and am able to have Fridays off to spend with my little Noelle Joy.

I am still singing at church 1-2 times a month along with leading Women's Ministry. Craig and I have always been all in at church, but these days we are definitely feeling it more. Sometimes I try to hold back in everything I WANT to do because it's just not possible with small children. Noelle and Micah still love going to church even though they are there from 8 a.m.till 1 p.m on Sundays. They don't complain. Everyone knows who they are and they feel at home there now.

We are still in a temporary building for our campus. Our goal is to have our own building by Easter (April). That will be so amazing, but also change a lot for our staff.

One of the best perks about my job is party planning. I get to plan events and functions for our church. I love hosting and so this has been right up my alley.

Recently, we had our Christmas party... I know it's a bit early. We wanted to kick off the season right away! We had a great time playing fishbowl and reflecting about the past year. Another perk about my job is my boss. We get along so well. Becoming great friends and we communicate to the point of over communication sometimes. However, I love a good communicator!! We get things done, but also have fun while we do it. Thankful for that part.

The last job I had was working at The Bridge Community Church in Chicago and really do have the best memories from that place. Now I get to have another favorite job working at Chase Oaks. The community and relationship building that goes on at a healthy church can be so rewarding. When your co-workers care about you and your personal well being it makes all the difference.

My kids are doing well too! They are growing up so fast. Micah is loving kindergarten and getting some major independence. He is starting to say "NO" to me a little too much and I can see him taking on some bad tendencies. Something he might be seeing at school. That's the major problem with school is not knowing who is influencing him and how to steer him on the right path.

Noelle is starting to talk more and will be turning 3 next month!! I can't believe she is getting so old and even using the potty regularly. She still loves baby dolls, strollers, and anything baby related. She is going to be an amazing mommy... for sure!!
