Magnolia Market

I can't believe I'm turning 32 on Friday! Life goes by so fast. One second your going to college, then marriage, then kids, and all the sudden your in your 30s. The 30 year old phase really makes you think about goals and striving to do something more than just yourself. Whether it's having kids or giving back to the community. I feel like in your 20s it's easy to only see yourself and what YOU want for your life. Now I'm setting goals for my family and my kids. Yes I want to accomplish this for me, but I am thinking of others more often than not these days.

I was recently asked to be a leader for my moms group at church. The official title in Discussion Group Leader (DGL) for MOMS Connection. This has been one of my dreams to serve other moms in the area who are in need of a friend, or a helping hand, or just ears to listen. I have always felt a tug at my heart for moms because it's so hard and we need one another to survive. Especially those who don't have family around. As I was talking to my other friend about it... we connect with other moms to make family friends, it sometimes means more to us than others who have family close by. Our connections and commitment to one another seems to be a lot stronger.

Speaking of friends with no family around... Camille and I got to have some amazing bonding time together this weekend. We traveled to Waco together to see the Magnolia Market at the Silos. Chip and Joanna Gaines Market from "Fixer Upper." On our way we had an hour and a half of time there and back to get to know one another. We realized even knowing each other for a year now, we never had a full conversation of our lives and past experiences because...well...KIDS. We can talk in sentences sometimes, but mostly it's just a little bit here and there. We got to relive our dating experience with our now husbands, what we did before we had kids and how much life has changed. I really needed this break and it was so much fun. We connected on a deep level and never had a dull moment in the car.
I picked out a couple items from her (Joanna) shop to put in my house and I love saying, "that's from Magnolia." I hope to go back soon. I want to post some pics from our day away. 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.

It was such an amazing day to get away and we couldn't run home when it was over. We got to sit in the car and chat. It's nice when you can plan these types of mini vacations. Also, I get to go to Fort Worth this weekend for my birthday and stay at a hotel!! I am excited to see comedy improv group and then dance the night away at Billy Bobs. I usually keep it low key for my birthday, but this year it different. I planned it out and was ready to invite my friends (who all get along). I am so grateful to have these friends who will take time to book a hotel and make this a birthday to remember. 32 is looking good so far!!

We took the kids to Ten 50 BBQ and they loved it. It was still really hot outside, but we stuck around and played for a bit outside in the shade. The kids were so happy. I love days like this!!

Happy Birthday to my beautiful sister in law too. I am so proud of her and all that she has accomplished for herself and her kids. I love that our birthdays are only a day apart!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAMMI!!!

Here's Micah and Samuel on their last day of summer school.
