Swinger

His first time swinging today at the park went great. We only did it for a few minutes but he really enjoyed it. He's still not quite in control of his body but definitely getting there.
Micah is ready for solids. When they say "they will let you know" it's true!! He will not  take his eyes off my food and licks his lips when I eat!!! Hahah seriously kid?? Ok so I might try some rice cereal tomorrow night and maybe take  some on the trip. I am really just being lazy because everything is so perfect now and I'm sad it's all going to change. I'm also really excited to see his face when I give him a spoon.
I had another meal success tonight that I would like to share! Fajita chicken bake. Lay 3 chicken breasts in a glass pan sprinkle taco seasoning on the breasts. cut up green pepper, red pepper, yellow pepper and an onion. Place on top of chicken. Pour some olive oil on the veggies and top with cheddar cheese. Bake at 375 for 35-45 minutes.
It was delish! I had it on rice and Craig cut up the chicken and put on a tortilla. Either way simple and good!

My LIL Yoda

Look at those ears!! He is just too cute. I like to tell people he is my little Yoda. We tried to go outside for a bit yesterday because it's been so nice outside. It's in the 70's this week and I am starting to get out my fall clothes. People around here have been wearing fall clothes since October started and I am trying to get in with the trend, but it's hard when it doesn't feel like fall. Micah is finally starting to hold is head up better in this walker and the bouncer. He can't reach in this walker quite yet...but I have a feeling he is going to love traveling around on our wood floors soon. He is sleeping through the night now.  From 8 p.m. until around 7 a.m. It's been an awesome transition for us to all get some good sleep and him to wake up the same time we do. Craig gets to spend some good time with him in the morning before he leaves. That might change soon because he will be traveling downtown for his new rotation.
On Friday we are going to go out to lunch one last time and his co-workers are going to join us! Also one of the women there who took some photos for us of Micah when he was born is pregnant. She just told us yesterday and she is due in MAY!! What a good month. I'm very excited for her.  This is my third friend who announced she is due in May. Craziness.

Yesterday I tried a new recipe to make chicken dumpling soup. It turned out awesome and was very easy.
Here is what you need:
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts ( I used 6-7 tenderloins and turned out great too) 2 Tbsp. butter 2 cans cream of chicken soup 1 (14.5 oz) can chicken broth 1/2 onion, diced OR you can use 2 Tbsp. dried, diced onion 1 Tbsp. dried parsley 4 Grands flaky refrigerator biscuits - 

Just put the chicken and butter in the crockpot. Put the cream of chicken on top and then add the broth. Next the onion and parsley. I did 4 hours on High (because I started at 12) but you can do 6-8 hours on low also. Then shred the chicken and put back in the pot. Cut the dough biscuits into four to make small dumplings and put in the crock pot and stir around. Then another hour on high to cook the biscuits. Viola!! I would add some kind of vegetable if I did it again. Like peas or green beans. Maybe add then already cooked at the end.

Chicago is around the corner. I am so excited and thrilled to be coming home. Just wish we had more time to see everyone.

Weekend

Hey all!!
We went to senior locos Friday night for dinner and Micah loved playing on daddy's lap. We hadn't been to this restaurant since the night before M was born! Crazy to go back. It was so nice to sit outside and hang out.
Saturday We grilled out and carved a pumpkin. It was a little too hot outside and I got tons of mosquito bites. I think they love my blood for some reason. Craig never gets any! Not fair.
Sunday we went to church early and then found a new sports bar to watch the Bears. It wasn't the family fun time I was hoping for since the bears we're doing so bad Craig was not happy and we left at half time.
I went to the grocery store and went crazy last night. I made an egg casserole and then pumpkin cookies. Haha
Best part about it was Craig liked it all!! Success is a good feeling. I just destroyed my kitchen ..but it happens. Lol

Craig and I both got our flu shots but my friends with kids have both got the stomach flu. Ahhhh I hope we don't get it!! I don't want to be sick on the plane. I'm a little nervous. Almost to the point that I don't want to go anywhere this week....

Pray we don't get this sickness and If so early this week.

5 months

Happy 5 months to my little man. I can't believe how time flies. Seems like yesterday I was pregnant and waiting to meet him. I never could have dreamed how special he has been in my life. He is my Angel baby. I have the best times with him and he's still so young. I am so excited to be on this journey with this big boy!!
Can't wait to see family and for everyone to enjoy what I get to everyday.

We went out to dinner last night with my brother in law. Jason is here for work and it was so nice to see him. We went to  whiskey cake. One of our fav restaurants! M did so good. He just loves being out and seeing New things.

I got to start packing for our trip!! Got two beanies for M I Will bring. I'm not gonna lie I'm kinda excited for some cooler weather. But glad I can come back to warm!! Ha

Bears

Micah is still happy even though the bears lost. Craig is pretty upset since the Aggies and the Bears lost again this weekend. Now thAt the aggies don't have Johnny football it's looking pretty bad. We went to BWW on Sunday to watch the game and We left early since Craig had to head off to his conference in Arlington.
Its been pretty lonely around here. Monday I got a much needed massage while a friend watched Micah. Oh how I wish my family was around to come over and watch him just for an hour or so. Its so nice to just get out for a bit. Also M and I went  to watters creek and talked with my friend Amy who is due with a boy in December. I seriously think there is something in the water..everyone is having boys!! There's so much to discuss when your getting ready for a little one to join your life!!

Today I went to a bible study called Bible Discussion Group or BDG. It was really nice. Its held at Chase Oaks but is not affiliated with the church. I decided to try it out instead of yoga. I love yoga but I was just needing a change.
Nice thing is there are a good amount of childcare workers and they can just hold Micah the hold time. I like that (since the whole head thing) so it make me feel good He is getting a good amount of attention. The new childcare people said.. He is just the happiest baby. Awww a mothers dream. He's my dream come true. Now I just need a girl and I'll be set. Haha

Craig comes home tomorrow night. It will be nice to have him back stress free!! This conference had him going a little crazy with end.

Diaper cake

Here it is!!! The diaper cake I make for my friends baby shower. I didn't made the banner though. I had my friend who has a cricket make that for me to put a personal touch on it. Everyone loved it and I was so happy! The elephant I got on Amazon and almost kept him for myself. Isn't he the cutest? His name is Humphrey the bedtime elephant.

It was really nice to get out for a little bit and eat and converse with my ladies!!

Micah is still recovering from the cold we both had. I think it's harder for him to get rid of all that built up snot. I try to suck some of it out but he is still stuffy. Keep him on your prayers.
Also Craig has his big conference this week so please pray that Everything goes smoothly. He has been working on this since he started this rotation. Bad part is he will be gone for 3 days:( I could have stayed with him but we have a dog. Sometimes I think how it would be nice to not have her.. But I seriously wouldn't trade her for anything. She is my first baby!! However I do wish I could stay at an classy hotel with a super sweet pool!! Haha

Sicky

We are both not feeling good today😪 my nose starting running and throat is really dry. I think this might be the first time I have a cold since before I got prego. It was a good run. I still need to get my flu shot. Hopefully i can go this week.

I have a baby shower this weekend I'm going to and I'm making a diaper cake for the center piece on the table. I will post a picture once it's all finished. Its really cute!

M is still not using his arms to lift his head up when on his tummy. He will do it for maybe a minute and then lay his head down. NOT sure why he doesn't want to try. I don't know how to make him want to.
Even though he's sick we still got to go out for dinner last night and he did great. He is a baby that loves to get out.. Just like mommy!!

Its beautiful outside and we did go for a walk but having a cold makes the wind make you sneeze even more which stinks. Hopefully this cold will go away fast!!

Dallas arboretum

Finally got out as a family yesterdAy to the Dallas arboretum. They had a lovely display of pumpkins there. We got some cute pictures. Both Craig and M had pretty bad allergies.
Today M is a little worse. He may have his first cold.. Boo.  He is struggling to fall asleep and waking up crying. When I try to give him Tylenol he gags and spits it out. I hope he feels a bit better later because we are  going to try and go out for dinner for Craig's 30th birthday today!! 
It's also getting cooler out so that could be a reason why he is not feeling good.

I hope this EBOLA goes away soon. This stuff is crazy. And it had to be right here!!  This is like those virus movies and it kinda freaks me out. I'm trying not to watch the news..but it's in my blood to know what's going on.

Pumpkin patch

We went to the pumpkin patch today. Lots of fun!! He loved it. Here was the problem with taking pics. He would NOT look at me. It was his first time touching hay and seeing pumpkins so all the pics are of him looking to the side. Oh well. It was hard to sit him up and get a good one. I met a couple new moms since none of my friends went. It wasn't going to stop me from going. I'm glad I went except made me miss going as a family. Some of the moms brought their husbands and everyone at least brought a friend they knew .. NO FAIR!! I thought it was a MOMS outing and made me feel a little sad that I didn't have anyone. Oh well..it's what you get when you move from all your family and friends. Its really tough sometimes ..but I'll get through it.
Craig is on his way to college station to go to a Texas A&M MBA tailgate for the game tomorrow. I knew we would be alone tonight so I made sure we got to do something fun!

Boo

We finally got his Halloween costume in the mail. Excited to put him in it. I hope it fits because he is growing so fast I can't keep up. This is a piece of candy Craig brought home from work. He got some teeth gummies for halloween from a secret person. Now he had to give two other people candy gifts without them knowing. Its a cute idea that they do at his work.
When we get home from Chicago he will start his new job in downtown Dallas. I will miss the people from the job he's doing now. And of course I will miss him being so close by.
I really hope he likes his New rotation. I can't believe we might be looking to buy a home soon. I can't wait!!

We are going to pumpkin patch tomorrow so I will take some cute pics!!

Baby bjorn

Micah loves his baby Bjorn these days . In this pic he looks like he is taking the picture. He loves to look out and see everyone and everything.

He has been sleeping through the night this week and I have been getting up before him in the mornings. I put him down at night when he's tired. I tried to do the same time every night but this seems to work better. He still goes to bed somewhere between 8-9 but I'm not forcing him to go to sleep.   I just wait till he's ready and when I put him down there's not even a peep (OK well sometimes there is). Whatever works..right? That's my theme and always will be.

98 degrees today... Yuck. I got to go to yoga this morning and out to lunch afterwards. We even stopped by Aldi and I picked up a couple things. I didn't even  realize it was that hot until I watched the news.

He is wearing some hand-me-down 9month onesies nowadays. Crazy. Where did my baby go?

Ok Craig is turning the big 3-0 on Monday the 13th. He doesn't like it when I bring it up. He feels old. Haha. What do you get a man for his 30th..we don't really do presents but it seems like I should do something.

If any of you think of something you can comment on here (don't worry Craig doesn't read this) haha

Cooler

It's getting a bit cooler these days which is such a nice change. It was in the low 80's this weekend and was amazing. Looking back I was so excited for when M was a little older so we could do things as a family but I guess I forgot one BIG factor: Football. It's football season as many of you know and it's not just watching the BEARS but also college football (Aggies). Saturday is college football and Sunday's are NFL. What to do?? I know this is Craig's favorite time of year and is really into watching all the games.... but sad for me. 

We did get to go for a few walks around the park which was really nice. These pics are of Micah in his little pilot zip up. So CUTE!!

This Saturday night we got to have Ashley and Cory over for dinner and made the fish Craig and Cory caught when they went fishing awhile back. It was really a lot of fun. I made my mac N cheese and bought some pies (pumpkin). We got to play "The game of Things" and we laughed and laughed at some of the "things" we wrote. It's definitely a fun game, and was so nice to laugh with friends.

Micah didn't go to sleep till late that night since we were laughing and being loud.

He is starting to have fun in the saucer that my friend is letting me borrow. He can barley touch the bottom with his feet. He still is not enjoying being on his stomach. Tummy time is still a challenge. Doctor said he will start moving around the crib.. but still waiting for that as well.

Friday we are going to try and go to the pumpkin patch with friends from the MOMS group. I hope we will have good weather. 

We booked our tickets today for home. Leaving November 1st and coming back November 9th. I'm really excited but trying to think if I have enough warm clothes for M. It's already in the 40's in Chicago... yikes!! He hasn't gotten sick and i'm hoping the cold weather doesn't get to him while we are there@!

Little friends

These are Micah's little friends. Charlie is the oldest and Caleb is two months older than Micah. Right now Micah is the youngest but soon we will have another little boy in December born in our lifegroup. Aren't they all so cute? These pics were taken at Micah's Sprinkle. 

 This picture is after his bath. He just loves taking baths and splashing with his feet. I am not sure about taking bath time photos just yet. I really don't have time to even lift my hands off of him before he starts to move around in the little tub.

Today we go to go to the park and walk with Lobelia and Charlie. It was supposed to be a time to get together with all the moms from our MOMS group, however only Lo and I showed up. I never thought it would be so hard to make connections until becoming a mom and realizing more people "hang out" online and on social media because it's too hard to get together. It's kind of sad. I guess my social life is a priority to me since that's all I have now. I need to be social. It's ingrained in my genes.    Hopefully it will get easier to all hang out together. But I'm sure having more kids makes it pretty tough.

Feetsies

His new thing is grabbing his feet. He is so cute when he does it. Every time I put him down he grabs his foot. PROGRESS. Today we went for a walk and I put him in the Baby Bjorn facing outward. He just loves it. He loves looking at everything and soaking it all in. I'm ready for some cooler weather though. The 85 degrees didn't feel too good. It got up to 93 today.. yikes. 

I had to drop off Lotte after our walk to the groomer. She needed a cut badly. Now she is looking pretty darn cute. When they called to let me know she was done they left a message and said "Your baby is all done." It caught me off guard at first. Then I thought to the time when she was my one and only baby. Now I consider her a big SIS and she is doing a good job at her new role. She is very protective. Oh yes and I didn't get to take a pic but when lotte got tired today during our walk I put her in the storage compartment underneath the stroller and she FIT!! IT was so funny and cute. The girls I was with were laughing. 

Yes.. and I'm starting this new "health" kick (I guess you could call it that). I bought Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar to start using internally and externally. I know that sounds weird. At women's bible study the other night they had brought it up and how it was good to drink and kills bacteria that causes cancer. When I got home I looked it up and WOW .. it does way more than that. It supposed to help so many other problems including but not limited too: body aches, nausea, high cholesterol, weight loss, helps you fall asleep, colds, coughs. Seriously YOU should google it and find out what it could help you with. Might as well try it. It's all natural so at least your not putting a drug in your body.
