Hand Mouth and Foot

This last week has been pretty tough. Micah got Hand, Foot and Mouth disease last week. We thought  it was just a cold at first and then he started getting bumps. We still went to Atlanta to visit my sister last week and I'm really glad we did. It was really interesting having a sick baby and then guess what? I got it too. I didn't even know I could catch it. It was seriously horrible. I was in so much pain on Monday. 

We are back home now and feeling better. I will be posting the pics from the week soon. They haven't downloaded to google yet. Once they do I will post them. We still had a lot of fun and tried to make the best of our time. My niece Riley ended up catching the disease on Thursday and poor thing was sick until we left. I'm praying AV and Hannah don't get sick because I would feel horrible. 

I just wanted to post and let you all know we are still alive!! Haha It's been awhile but I will post some fun pics and stories soon!

Clapping

I told you all M starting clapping and so I though I would share his new skill.

This is a picture form Sunday morning. We put him in an outfit from the Hooker's. Either Craig or his dad Gary wore this outfit. It was so adorable. I love that we can put him in these clothes worn by generations. How fun is that? 

Church was fun...but today M is sick. I'm guessing from he nursery. He was in childcare twice on Sunday since we went to lifegroup later that day too. Hoping he feels better soon since we are getting ready to go see my sister in Atlanta. This will be my first trip to Hotlanta. It will be nice to see Hannah and get to spend one on one time together. I even get to be with her on her Birthday! How special is that? 

I think I'm going to get my hair cut off on Saturday. We'll see how I'm feeling that day. I'm just ready for a change. I know a bob won't look good on me (I've tried). Just need to get rid of all this damaged hair and start over.  I'm nervous.. hopefully it turns out good :)

This blow up laser toy is what he got at the carnival I was telling you all about. And this is how I found him in the backseat. I told you he loves this thing! He loves it so much he even falls asleep on it. 

How cute is this? seriously.

He is just starting to clap. I didn't even know what it happened but this morning he was clapping when he was in bed with Craig and I. He also can toss a ball. He doesn't have good aim, but still is starting to get it.

Here's another one I missed. From the park one day. Wearing his new hat. We still got to wear it in.

Showers

Such a fun and busy weekend we had. Baby Henry's shower turned out great. We had about 12 people come and 2 no shows. That's pretty big baby shower for just friends. Most girls even stayed about an hour after the party technically "ended" which I think is a good sign that everyone was having fun. Here are some pictures of the party and decor.

Everything was great. The ONLY thing that was not perfect were my mac and cheese bites. Everything tasted great but this girl bought foil cups and left the paper in them (bc I wasn't sure if I was supposed too or not). Guess what? Your not supposed to put them in paper. They stuck to the paper and it was very hard to eat. At least we had forks to eat them with. I was very upset at myself and would definitely make them again because they tasted great.. just not with paper.

I was able to actually go to another baby shower at 2 p.m. for a friend. I couldn't believe how many babies are being born in May.  I got to buy some cute girl clothes for her and that's always more fun than boy clothes... haha

Craig watched M all day. It was crazy. I mean not super crazy, but for me it may have been the longest I have been away from M. I saw him in spurts.. but never really played with him and it was weird. Finally when I go home Saturday at 5 we all went out to dinner at a local spot we like to sit outside.

They have someone who plays live music on Fridays and Saturdays and Micah just loves it. He won't stop dancing.

Anyways, I'm a little tired today. Sleeping a bit better but still can't fall asleep as fast as I would like too.

Now I have to start prepping for Micah's bday party!! So excited about it. Can't believe he is going to be 1. It's coming up so fast.

Here's my issue and yes I need a tissue. I have been struggling to fall asleep this week. Not sure if it's the party planning and trips I have coming up. My mind will not stop going and going. I can't seem to shut it down at night. Any suggestions? Micah is sleeping fine of course and now I am having problems. Yesterday I felt so tired and worn out I almost broke down and cried. I even had two chances to take a nap and I laid there and could NOT sleep. hmmm.. So last night I put M to bed at 8 and I went to bed too. I think I may have fallen asleep around 10 and M woke up twice. We both woke up around 8 a.m. I feel much better today. However I did take a PM pill last night to help me. I don't wan tot become dependent on it. Maybe I should try zzzquil? Anyways be praying for me because without sleep life is really tough.

Tomorrow is the party. I will take tons of pics to show you all the decor. I'm really excited. I hope the ants stay away while I have food out on the table. We had a guy come last Saturday, but I still see them here and there. Tomorrow I am hosting a baby shower and then I have another one to go to at 2 p.m. I hope I can do both. Also we start up our Life group meetings again this Sunday. We have to put M in childcare... which is sad but good i guess.


Here is me trying to vacuum the whole house with M on my back. It's the only way because he hates the vacuum. haha

Carnival..Easter.. Pool

Micah went to his first carnival on Saturday. He got to ride the Merry Go Round and pick up a duck and win a prize. I forgot how sketchy carnivals are. haha Those carnies are really creepy too. I always like carnivals growing up...but they are a little more scary when you get older and see the people working there and the old rickety roller coasters. My favorite ride growing up was the zipper. Such good memories. I wonder if I would ride it today.

 His new thing is sticking his tongue out all the time. Not sure why. Maybe he likes to feel the air.

He won a blow up laser sword and actually loves it. Probably not a toy for a 10 month old but Oh well.

Easter Sunday was a wonderful day. We went to church and then had lunch at Ashley and Cory Dye's house. The picture with Micah is from Ashley's house. Thanks to KIM MOM for the adorable Eater outfit!! 

I told you all I was going to get M a pool. And so I did. It was only 10 bucks at walmart so how could I not get it? He loves it. It's been 80 degrees out but still doesn't feel warm enough out to get in and stay in this pool since it's freezing. M doesn't care how cold it is. He loves it no matter what. I need more pool toys for sure. 

Yes and we have a window licker in the house now. Guess it's just another thing I need to keep clean around here. He is starting to lick the window. He just wants to be outside.

I have been really busy getting everything ready for my friend's baby shower this Saturday that I am hosting. Here is a sneak peak at the decorations I'm making.

This is a diaper wreath that I made. Just call me Martha Stewart....haha I also made a diaper cake. I know.. I'm crazy. Looking forward to Saturday. I hope everything turns out good!

Soaking in the...water

It seems pretty bright out and the camera got all the glare. He was so happy yesterday just sitting in the water. I think it was pretty cold too. It doesn't bother him. Just loves hanging out and splashing around. This momma is one happy camper. I am already planning on getting him a little swimming pool for our porch. It's a must!!
